Downloading Project Data

Why Export Project Data?

While Plotstuff provides comprehensive in-app reporting, there are times when you need your raw project data in a portable format. CSV exports let you open your asset data in Excel, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet application for custom analysis, pivot tables, or integration with other project management tools.

Data exports are also valuable for archival purposes, client handovers, and compliance documentation where the data needs to exist outside of Plotstuff.

How to Download Project Data

  1. 1

Open your project and click the Download Options button.

  2. 2

Under Data Exports, select CSV Export.

  3. 3

Choose what to include: all assets, specific types, or a specific floorplan.

  4. 4

Click Download to generate and save the CSV file.

What Data Is Included?

The CSV export includes one row per asset with the following columns: reference code, asset type code, asset type description, floorplan name, x-coordinate, y-coordinate, phase, and all custom field values. If your asset type has Name, Directional Content, or QR Code fields enabled, those values are also included as separate columns.

The data reflects the current state of the project at the time of export. If you need a historical snapshot, export your data at key milestones (e.g. after each approval round or before starting installation).

💡

Use CSV exports to create custom client reports. Import the data into Excel, add your company branding and formatting, and generate tailored reports that go beyond what Plotstuff's built-in reports offer.

ℹ️

CSV files use UTF-8 encoding and comma delimiters. If you see encoding issues with special characters, make sure your spreadsheet application is set to import with UTF-8 encoding.
