Installation Tracking
What Is Installation Tracking?
Installation tracking flows let you monitor the physical installation of assets on-site. After your designs are approved and assets are manufactured, the installation phase begins. Plotstuff provides a dedicated flow type that your installation team can use to mark assets as installed, upload evidence photos, and flag any issues.
Installation flows work on any device — desktop, tablet, or mobile. Installers can walk through the building with a tablet, pull up the floorplan, locate each asset position, and update its status right there on the floor.
Setting Up an Installation Flow
- 1
Open the Flows panel from the floorplan toolbar.
- 2
Click + Create New Flow and select Installation as the flow type.
- 3
Name the flow (e.g. "Phase 1 Installation", "Ground Floor Install").
- 4
Enable Asset Photos so installers can document their work with photos.
- 5
Enable SVG Uploads so installers can see what each asset should look like.
- 6
Click Create Flow and share the link with your installation team.

How Installers Use the Flow
When installers open the flow link, they see a simplified view of the project focused on the installation task. They can navigate between floorplans, zoom in to find specific asset locations, and tap on each marker to update its status.
For each asset, installers can mark it as "Installed", upload a photo of the completed installation, or flag it as having an issue that needs attention. The photos and status updates sync in real time, so the project manager can monitor progress from anywhere.
Ask installers to take photos of every installed asset. These photos serve as a permanent record and are invaluable during the inspection phase when verifying that everything was installed correctly.
Monitoring Progress
The flow card in your Project Flows panel shows real-time installation progress. You can see the total number of assets, how many have been marked as installed, and how many still remain. This gives you an at-a-glance view of where the installation stands without needing to visit the site.
For detailed reporting, export the installation data to see a per-floor and per-type breakdown of installation status. This is useful for project management meetings and client progress reports.
